Director's Biography:
Evan Briggs first became interested in documentary film as a senior in college through the Center for Documentary Studies in Durham, N.C. She moved to San Francisco shortly after graduation in 2000, where she worked as an intern at the Bay Area Video Coalition before relocating to Seattle where she worked on a film about an Israeli-Palestinian support group for bereaved parents. Evan attended a month-long documentary workshop in Maine with Michael Rabiger, where she made her first short film about the Maine Wild Blueberry Queen competition. Since then, Evan's other short films have premiered in cities all over the country. She has also taught Digital Filmmaking Workshops for Kids through the Digital Media Academy. Evan grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. in Literature and French from Duke University and an M.F.A. in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University.

Death is easier than life for 2 million street children and young homeless in the Streets of Cairo. They face police brutality, sexual abuse, stealing of their organs, violence. Despite being castaways, they master the chaos, creating a world full of escapades, conflicts, laughter and sadness.

M. Cem Oztufekci was born in 1985. He studied at Robert College with a scholarship until university. Currently, he is a last year film student at Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty. "Ayak Altinda" is his first short film as a director and a producer. He directs and produces short films.

France, in the near future. Unemployment raises to 35%. To solve the problem, the Government votes a new law called "The Empty Job." High salaried people must employ an unemployed person in their house. This is the way the Remiot, an upper-class couple, meet Elise, a young unemployed person. This forced co-habitation will bring Mr. Remiot to wonder about his way of life and his own existence.

Antares Bassis was born in 1977, near Paris. He got a master degree in cinema at University of Paris I, Pantheon-Sorbonne (he has been teaching film in Junior High School for several years). He made several self-made short film, documentary and institutional. Last year he created a video installation for a theatre play from author Matei Visniec, a well known Rumanian author. Actually, he is developing a feature film comedy for cinema, and a science fiction thriller for tv. He will direct another short film in the following year.

However, after her Christian mother finds out Evelyn's secret, she reproaches Evelyn for her looseness in life. Evelyn turns to the married man but is harshly rejected. At last she decides to take revenge on him.

Shih-Shan Chen
Director's Biography:
Novia Shih-Shan Chen is a filmmaker from Taiwan who has been in the US to study the crafts of filmmaking for four years. She has just completed her M.F.A. in Film Production from the School of Film at Ohio University. Her thesis film is called "Evelyn," a narrative short about a 17 year-old girl, who plans on to give up everything for the extramarital relationship that she gets involved in. "Evelyn" has won the Betty Thomas Film Award from the College of Fine Arts at Ohio University. This film is currently being submitted to film festivals.

A humorous look at Michael, an elderly, world-worn widower, in his pattern of mundane daily urban meanderings, happens upon a Tom of Finland doll in a sex shop window. His fascination with the erotic doll is the trigger for a belated and reluctant sexual self-discovery at the end of a lifetime of sexual repression. A series of dreams and stream of consciousness vignettes moves Michael from surprise to hope to love affair ending in violence and betrayal.
